JZZ30MAN Regular Location: NSW Registered: August 2002	Re: the final word on getting an r154 (ijz manual) box into a ma61 supra Tue, 01 October 2002 05:39 From what I can recall from the Supras website and emailist, even when you change to a Supra R154 gearbox tailend, the shifter is still further back than the MA70 position. LONG BOX If you use one of the long 1JZ R154's the shifter will end up in the coin pocket, just in front of the arm rest. SHORT BOX If you use the shorter tail end, the shifter ends up just into the area where the TEMS buttons are. I suspect if you use the Long Box option you won't have enough room to fit a short thifter. From what I have seen of short shifters, they are quite a bulky item. I suggest you talk to the guys on the MK3 Supras List even the MK4 guys. To check the facts. Note - the above gearstick locations would occur in an MA70/71. I believe the loaction would be the same if using a MK4 Supra Getrag 6speed, which can also have the tail end swapped out. So MA61 locations would likely be different, but not any further forward.
