About a year ago I was on my way to work doing about 40 as i'd just gone through a school zone. Anyway a huge Maori bloke started crossing from my right & stopped as he got to the median strip. I slowed down as I went past him & I see his leg fly up and kick my rear view mirror (mind you this was about 8 in the morning!). The glass in the mirror went flying!!! I pulled over wondering wtf just happened & the people in the car behind me pulled over aswell. I got their details and then went up to the bloke who had just kicked my car. He reckoned I was in the wrong (his story - he indicated for me to stop, bulls**t), I argued with him & his supervisor for a few minutes but had to get to work. At work I get a call from the police about a hit & run Apparently the bloke & his supervisor had made a report about me hitting the Maori bloke & injuring his elbow and then failing to stop afterwards. After work I went in to the police station where I was questioned for about half an hour, astounded by the utter rubbish claimed by these people. I gave the police the details of my witness (the people behind me), showed them my car and left it at that. Haven't heard anything since... Still got pictures of the damage, only cost me about $50 for a new mirror in the end. Funny thing is, the pics clearly show a footprint & if ever this was taken to court I think i'd be safe.
