Extension housing - you mean the bellhousing? What side of it - gearbox or motor?
These arent a 2 piece box!
If its leaking at the front itd be either your gearbox front seal, or your motor rear seal...
on a side note, the loctite brand blue gasket goo is great for sealing up boxes.
