Ive got a switch on mine.. and it has worked fine for 2 years.
Just dont make a habit of turning it on at high load.. ie dont have the throttle open.
The OEM computer will engauge the clutch at at preset vacuum close to atmosphere... regardless of the RPM.
ie when your crusing and its in vacuum, when you open the throttle the pressure goes from vacuum to atmosphere quickly... just before it reaches atmo the clutch engauges and then it goes into boost until it falls back just before atmo.
