Jonny2TG Forums Junkie Location: Tasmania Registered: May 2002	Re: 2TG fuel pump Mon, 30 August 2004 13:12 The stock mechanical pump on the block will probably be good for most 2T-G's (thats what they came with) up to about 160hp. My engine is probably close to 160hp with 3T bottom and big cams, and it was running ok with mechanical pump still. I have now put on a electric pump (low pressure "for 6 and 8cyl") just to eliminate any cause for the slight problems I am getting at high rpm. I have it mounted in the boot near the fuel tank, and it ticks a bit initialy before it primes itself with fuel. If you want it realy quite, do it like factory fitted items are. Rubber mount the pump to a metal plate. Then rubber mount that metal plate the the underside of the car. You won't hear it then, and the pump won't starve of fuel being low to the ground.
