I ditched them too Hen. These would have to be the easiest calipers to change pads in that I've seen. (excluding AP, wilwood & other race calipers. I'm talking stockies here) You dont even have to take the caliper off it's mount to change the pads if you don't want to. (but I would as pushing the pistons back in to fit newer & obviously thicker pads is easier with the calipers off so you can see and work more easily) I also ditched the spring thingy you speak of Shane and replaced it with 2 small rings (like you hang your keys off - whatever they're called??)to ensure the pins don't come out. Maybe overkill for the street but I'm travelling over 200Km/h each lap so I wanted to be sure!!! (that stock spin looked ooh so thin to me......
