kingmick Forums Junkie Banned by his request Location: moved to tamworth Registered: July 2002	Re: 4AGTE Turbo Manifold Wed, 01 September 2004 01:07 high or low mount make no diffrence at all! is a japanese selling ploy! the only way a high mount is better if the intake from the turbo sticks out the bonnet so you get cold air and that is it! the very low mounts like indy ect nead to have a sump on the bottom of the turbo and and oil pump to return the oil but they do this because an indy car is low and hence to fit the turbos they are resticted by space. it has alway made me laugh at high and low mount! i keep expecting my wife to be sitting on the floor of the bathroom saying gee the hairdry works better down here! unless you have a water wheel running your engine the air is being pushed out it dosnt run out, so downhill or up hill doesnt make any diffrence. let me guess its all to do with hot air rising!lol Jimmeh just put it where it fits best and make the runners the same length and end with a nice plenem box at the end at it will work fine. you a bit restricted using steam pipe{you cant get the same shape into the plenum without a huge amount of work) but its cheap and easy to work with so use it for your first go at it! then use stainless when you want to make another. mick [Report message to a moderator]
