Got the old girl back from the suspension place today.
Toobs was right - it did take longer than expected, but it was mainly 'cos I had trouble sourcing the bits. Big thanks to El Presidente for sourcing the bits for me.
Now she handles like she's on rails. No more tramping across the road for the hell of it. No more squeaks or thumps or whatever from the steering and suspension. No slop in the steering anymore - I point it and she goes in the same direction - like a new car now!
All the original shocks and springs are in perfect order, so I didn't get them replaced or lowered or hacked about in anyway 'cos this car is to stay original.
Toyota had parts, in Japan, for the car, but at over $150 for the pitman arm, $50 per tie-rod and $185 for the idler arm, plus a 3 week shipping wait - we were able to get the above (and more) for a tad over $200 (and in 2 days). What a bargain!
