You should have no difficulty finding a quote around that price. I got one quote for $1500 assuming there was no prep for them to do. Drive in drive away is definitely going to cost mega bucks. 90% of the money is in the preparation. Even taking your bumper bars and tail lights off will save you about $100. If you've ever stripped a car down to the chassis you'll realise how much work is involved (not to mention putting it back together!) You can still prep it for a bare metal respray if you're careful - do one panel at a time, strip with paint stripper and sand off anything that is left and then go over it with fine grade paper (like 600) with a random orbit sander. Clean it with prep wash and paint with rust converter. It can then be left for ages (up to a year if it's kept dry) without paint. There was probably about a 3 week gap for me between stripping some panels and painting and it was fine. I'd post some photos, but I need to get the car out of the garage first - the flash on the camera is reflecting off the paint way too much to be able to take a decent photo (I reckon that's a good sign ) Professional 2 pack is not necessarily more expensive than acrylic either. Acrylic takes a hell of a lot more work to get a good finish (sanding between coats etc) whereas 2 pack is just a quick 'spray it and it's done' deal. However, I believe a lot of show cars use acrylic paint because can give a better finish over all. It's a lot easier to fix things and most imperfections can be fixed with a bit of 1200 wet&dry and some polish. The same can not be said for 2 pack.
