I remember today tonight did a story a while back on a device that was designed to use about 30% less fuel when installed. i thought it was pretty dumb coz if your car is properly tuned and u drive it sensibly and you think it still uses to much fuel THEN GET A FREAKIN DAEWOO MATIZ!!!
But yeh it was an inline fuel regulator/restrictor which basically just leaned out the fuel mixture. But on road tests showed they didn't really work. I suspect the ECU in the cars they tested i think it was falcoon, commonwhore and Camry just adjusted everything to suit the leaner fuel.
This probably has nothing to do with what you are talking about but yeh. I don't actually remember what the device looked like so i cant say if it had the 3 pipes
