I reckon i could do two of those conversions for under $6K fairly easily, and in half the time.

at the end of the day its buyer beware.. Id start by going back to them and saying you can get it cheaper elsewhere and see hwere you go with that, if you must have someone else touch it that is, otherwise save a crapload and do it yourself. theres more than enough information on the web to easily complete a conversion of this kind.
