First thing to do is search the forums and the mian Toymods web site. Many of your questions will be answered, or you will be pointed int he right direction....
Dont forget to look into insurance as well! For some one of your age, most insurance company wont insure you with a modified car. Those that will may well want a large sum of money that you could buy another car with. Look into the ongoing costs before commiting to a car you may not be able to afford to drive!
To answer the basiscs for you, yes, a 4A-GE will fit in. It does take a lot of work tho as most of these came out of a front wheel drive car. Any year will fit as all A series engine blocks are esentialy the same on the outside.
Dont forget, that if the engine you want has EFI, you need some way to make it work, or have to swap backto carbies. There is much more than just the price of the engine involved.
Does the car have a gear box already? (if not, more money and research is required)
All K series Corollas are RWD.
As for compliance, depends what state you are in. Check with the local authorities. They can vary quite a bit!
Lat but not least, the more research and info you can get before commiting to a project, the more chance of success you will have. I cant say enough about planning and thinking ahead!
Good luck!
Craig.
