From what i've gathered, you can run the single wire from the + battery terminal to the starter, then run another thick cable from the starter + terminal to a distribution block, which them you can have the other misc power cables go to. The earth can bolt to the chassis pretty much anywhere I gather, as long as it makes good contact.
Provided I have the moneys, I think i'll relocate my battery this weekend!
