The 18RGs use the same pump housing with a little steel sandwich plate to increase the height of the gears that can be fitted inside the pump, and hence increase the volume of the pump. The 18R pump will fit the 18RG and vice versa. The pump in the 18RG is driven off an extra shaft that REPLACES the distributor drive shaft. It isnt part of the oil pump. There is an aluminium blocking plate that covers the old distributor hole and locates the top of the 'extra' shaft. [Report message to a moderator]
