~70% of the braking effort is effected at the front of the car, where the static weight is heavier and the inertial force shifts dynamic weight during deceleration.

There's nothing wrong with adequately sized rear drums, greater improvements can be achieved by upgrading the front brakes.

How does it stop? Drive a TA22 with the Hilux/Pug/Corona upgrade and stock drums, let me know if (and why) you feel you need more than that.
