Dude, whatever you do, don't bog.
To my knowledge, the compound bog is made of has tiny molecular lattice level spaces that can encapsulate water molecules. So basically, bog absorbs water and would lead to rust around the bog (that is why bog is never a solution to rust). What I would recomend is some fibreglass resin or something similar that doesn't absorb water.
