Idle Speed Control Valve (ST165) Sat, 11 September 2004 04:05 Go to previous message
I'm no expert on these things (simply cause I'm not allowed to even touch my car mechanically until I fix my other two cars) but my GT4 is idling bloody high, 1500rpm even when it's warmed up - my guess is that the ISC valve is stuck open (I remembered about that thing when it came up on another thread).

How exactly do those things work? Do they let air in from outside of the intake manifold? If so, if it is stuck open would it let air out of the manifold when the intake manifold has higher pressure than surrounding atmosphere?
