scour the wreckes for adaptor - there seemed to be two kinds for 18R manifolds lat time <people100> and i went to ABC wacol to look for stuff - smallish is for denso carbi, larger is suitable for webber.
linkages will be DIY unless you want to pay serious cash. If you want to see how my RA40 was converted to cable, PM me to setup a meeting at Kenmore.
a webber from a 2litre cortina might be a good start - anything larger will simply assist you in wasting petrol, spark plugs and the top compression ring - as well as giving those travelling behind you an unhealthy cloud of unburnt petrol to drive thru.
but ... why are you looking at improving the performance of a truck motor?
havlng already been down this path, i'd suggest you save your penney's to buy a proper engine -at leat an 18RG or even (dare i say it) 21 or 22 RE... infact , anything with EFI will be an improvement on the 18R.
granted, the 18R is hard to kill but without wasting large amounts of cash (like i've done) you'll not be satisfied with your efforts.
if you want to improve reliability, change the points to electric or jaycar HEI, clean the cooling system properely and bolt on any 4cyl webber that you can steal from a 2 litre engine
my 2c,
Charles.
