ok I know nothing but here goes... technically you can mix and match with the 4.1 and 4.3 ring gear re lapping the sets to match isnt that big a deal and most good diff rebuilders can do this for you ( reluctantly ) youll need to find someone whos willing to go to the effort which is not neccesarily easy as most cant be arsed and will give you all the above reason for them not to do it. BUT.... there may be an issue matching the 4.3 to the 4.1 because ive heard that the 4.3 ring gear is actually a lot thicker?, weither that be the tooth spacing or the gear itself i cant say. if anyone has some shots of a 4.1 that are clear i can match them up to pics of a 4.3 i have to maybe try and confirm this. If thats true ( and I cant really see why it would be but hey thats toyota for ya ) then you wont be able to match the two together. [Report message to a moderator]
