what are the shift rods? is it like a toploader? sorry for the daft questions, i've never played with a 3K before.
3k? Both the ke70 and 55 came with the 4k.

and the bellhousing seperates from the box...? so i can use the KE70 box on the KE55 bellhousing? or can i use the KE70 bellhousing with the KE70 box? i assume i'd have to use the KE70 b'housing for the hole for the clutch cable.
I'm going to make the assumption that both the 'boxes are manual. The bellhousings are, should be, the same. The extension housing on the 'box thats in the ke70 (thats at the rear of the 'box) is longer. If memory serves. If memory serves right again you should be able to use the ke55 'box. Yes you will have to use that hole for the clutch cable. No two ways about it.

is it just the mount that's different or the whole gearbox x-member? just for clarification, the "spigot" bearing is the "thrust" bearing for the clutch yeah?
Now if your swapping from an auto to a manual. This is a little different. You wouldn't be able to swap bellhousings, their different. The "spigot" bearing is what sits in the centre of the flywheel. The input shaft from the 'box needs it for support. The "thrust" bearing is used by the clutch fork. The auto gearbox x-member will have to swapped over for the manual 'box x-member. And i do believe that the output splines will be different between the 2 'boxes. Which will mean that the front yoke on the prop shaft will need to swapped. But i think you'll find that the shafts are of diiferent lenghts. Don't quote me on that do some side-by-side measuring.
