Wed, 15 September 2004 08:49 The easiest (worthwhile) conversion would probably be the atmo 7MGE, but it's not really THAT spectacular an upgrade and you will get bored of it before long. A 7MGTE is the pick of the bunch - I am doing a 1JZGTE conversion into my car and it's been headache after headache. If I'd just stuck with a 7M as originally planned, and ignored the naysayers, it'd have been on the road long before now and I'd probably have done some tasty mods too! Very easy swap, budget a good $5k though - manual half cut, intercooler, exhaust, fuel system etc. I would also budget an extra few hundred to do the head gasket in advance. Depending on what you want to do with the motor, a standard Toyota item will be more than enough. If you want to go big turbo or serious mods later suggest you go for an aftermarket MHG straight off the bat and save yourself the trouble. This type of thing is much easier when the engine is out of the car! [Report message to a moderator]
