Perhaps allow him the flexibility of asking a few wreckers what they would want for it and offer him that amount. Personally, I would just offer to take the car off him for free - it sounds fucked (good for parts). Is this the one Leigh turned down a few weeks ago?
If you found one with a straight rear quarter panel, I would be buying that one and doing that one up.
The sedan taillights and rear bumper are not interchangeable.
