What happens is they chain the cars down from the tow points front and back tight onto the bump stops to save space on the trailer, so tight infact a few car makers have demanded cars tied down via wheels only as brand new cars where geting BENT and doors not closing properly!!

I'd drive it and enjoy the trip!

yeh exactly, thats why you'll see a lot of cars that are being transported just locally are strapped down just over the wheels and maybe 1 chain at the front, those chains can get a lot of pressure in them once they are ratcheted into place. i reckon strapping over the tyres is better, the suspension might make the body bounce a bit on a rough road, but as Allan said at least then shit isnt pushed out of alignment. Smile
