hahahahashahaha

^^^^^ whooops... Andrew (my bro) was still logged in... in case you coudn't tell lol

6ish words in title, targeted phrase close the start. What is important is positioning and weighting. Weighting is measured by the total number of words vs the targeted phrase. Position of words in the page/title also matters.

SOME body content. With targeted phrase close to the top of the page. 500 words is fine

Links are good, the home page will always rank the highest.

To get the most out of internal links, name the FILES according to your desired terms for people to find them on.. ie a page on engine might be v8supra.com/engine.htm... then you would link to it like <a href="http://www.v8supra.com/engine.htm" title="V8 Supra Engine Conversion">V8 Engine Conversion</a>

and you can make the page names even more specific if you want and feel free to use underscores.. ie "v8supra.com/engine_conversion.htm" this type of naming protocol is good too.

The title attribute of the href tags can be used to increase relevancy.

But what will make the biggest distace is relevant pages with good rank linking to your pages/site. I would put together an email asking peeps to link to you from their related sites. You will go STRAIGHT to the top Very Happy

example for you home page on v8supra might be <a href="http://www.v8supra.com" title="V8 Supra">Pete's V8 Supra Site</a>

Just get people to whack that on their page somewhere. (nearer the top is good and not on a page with too many other links - but we can't be fussy about other peeps sites now can we? Wink)

man... you gotta be hating that you asked hey.. lol. Seriously though.. just do these simple things.. once the page is formatted nice, then submit to dmoz and google will pick you up pretty soon. Don't submit a badly formatted page but, or you will have to work your way up from even further down.
