A guy I know is on the dole, sits at home and playes on a playstation (something I can't afford but he can) alllllllllll day, goes out every weekend and drinks heaps of alcohol (again something I can't afford) and is always winging that he still doesn't get enough money. I get around $100 per f/night centrelink payments as a full time uni student and this doesn't go too far with food, petrol, rego car expences and just surviving. He gets $380 per f/night and has zero expences as he lives at home. He has no uni fees ($500 a year for me) text books ($700-$800 a year) and I am doing Primary Teaching so I have to drive 110 k's a day to teach Kindergarten all day everyday UNPAYED!! He has no asperations of getting work for the rest of his life and i'm trying to be able to get a job to pay tax to re-pay the 50 bucks a week i'm getting. He will never re-pay his. I look at apprentices and they get a wage (I know guys it's small) so I can't see why we can't get some kind of wage to at least pay for expences! I know I might sound like a winger but I really can't follow the whole system. Let me see if I got this straight...The government rewards people on the dole with more money to go buy a new Playstation game every 2 weeks to occupy their time while they try and keep uni students living in poverty eating sh*t because in the near future they will be paying big taxes.........hmmmmmmmm [Report message to a moderator]
