I did a write up on the differences some time back, see this link

Essentially the exhaust side is all the same and the inlet is different. They will bolt up so long as you get the cast alloy pipes on the AFM side of the compressor. All the coolant and oil lines are the same, so no worries there either.

The gen3 turbos seem a bit wider, so if your rear turbo is close to your steering box or master cylinder it may cause issues. i didn't notice this until I bolted them in and couldn't get a heat shield on.
