I did a search before starting this to see what I was up for and I was told

Quote:

In the last 2 weeks, I have removed and replaced the injectors in my 1JZ-GTE twice. The only things I removed were the accelerator and kickdown cables. Everything else was done with either my fingers or a ring spanner.
I didn't touch the IACV or loosen the inlet manifold.

Mind you, it helps to have *very* flexible fingers.

All in all, I think it took me 1h 45m to remove the 380cc injectors and install the 440cc ones.

By the way, the first 3 injectors are the easiest to pull out. I could remove and replace those in 30 minutes now I reckon. It's the back 3 that are the tough ones.

I tried to do this and I just can't see how it is possible! I couldn't even get the last 2 10mm bolts off because they hit the inlet manifold. To even get anywhere near the 2nd last one, I had to disconnect a number of the pipes in the area. So I then took the 3 12mm bolts off that hold the rail on. Disconnected the Fuel lines in and out. I could move it but nowhere near enough. So then I decided to loosen the inlet manifold a bit and see if I could jiggle it out. This didn't work. So I then decided to loosen the inlet manifold a lot and it was going fine but there were some wires in the way going to CAS & coil packs. In order to get these wires off I had to take the timing belt cover off first. So now there was a bit of slack in the wires I could fit the rail underneath it and after a bit of jiggling I finally got it out.

Now that I have it out, I still can't get the bastard things out of there! What the hell is going on?? It has taken me at least two hours already and I still haven't got the things out!
