Dummy's Guide to Celicas: Part II Thu, 23 September 2004 06:25 Go to previous message
Hey guys,
thanks for all the previous help, it was very useful and informative. Now some more dumbarse questions.:

* i have been getting used to the fact that my celica does not have a passenger side mirror and it has taken some getting used to. It is a 1975 ta22 yet alot of other 1975 celicas i have seen on the web seem to have a passenger side rear view mirror. what is the story behind that? does not really matter that much just interested.

*chiltons or heynes manual? I get the feeling that heynes is quite useless and i just want something that will provide me with a good foundation to build upon. does anyone have the chilton's manual...what is it like? any other suggestions.

* i currently have the original celica steering wheel and am looking to buy a new and smaller wheel. now my understanding is that i just have to buy new steering wheel and boss kit to suit celica. Are the boss kits just available at any big automotive store or are they actually hard to find. Does the celica boss kit require a certain steering wheel...i mean will certain wheels not fit.

* the celica i have is very original...like really really original and very schmick interior. here is my dilemma, as much as i love listening to lawsy on talkback radio i would eventually like to upgrade the stereo to something beyond an AM capacity yet i do not want to tear up the perfect dash...it would be a crime against humanity. any suggestions of putting in head deck and speakers that would not fuck up the original look of the car. is it worth getting a professional to do this for me?

*my god the 2t is laughably underpowered. it is quite funny when u really have to push it to maintain the speed limit up big hills. slowly waiting until my confidence builds so that i can swap to 2tg and get rid of auto box...slowly...

thanks for all ur help guys. really appreciate that some people will take the time out to help someone who really does not know their shit.
cheers.
