Guess everyone has to start somewhere:

ADR's changed sometime in 1974/75/76 (I think) and made it a requirement that two external rear view mirrors are fitted. Sounds lke you have a car before this requirement, or someone removed the mirror, filled the holes and painted the doors. I have a comlete pair of 1974 TA22 external mirrors. PM me and you can buy the set.

I have both manuals (Christmas presents from family members) and they are both pretty poor, but the Chilton's is the pick. I now also have the 2T -C, B and 2TG big green book (BGB) from Toyota, and that is the best thing for the engine.

Boss kits to suit early Toyota's including the Celica are available from Supercheap, Rocca's, etc etc. Hint - find out which range of wheels (say Autotechnica) has the boss kit you need *before* you choose a steering wheel you like.

Aftermarket stereo's are easy to fit yourself. And you save heaps of $$$ too. If you not going to cut the dash, then you fit the unit to a cradle and bolt up up under the dash between the steering column and the centre console. Look under the rear parcel shelf in the boot and you should find two speaker holes in the metal shelf above the fuel tank. Front speakers can be cut into the doors or you can fit pods to the outside of the trim.

Get a 2TG, manual gearbox, and a pedal box from a manual TA22 and you should be right. I might have a TA22 pedal box at home. Again, PM me if interested.

Cheers,
Mitch.
