i say do whatever it is that you want to do, without being rash and not listening to advice of others who know better
theres a lot of great engines out there that will fit, but half of them are probably too heavy or may be costly than other engines to produce basically the same result in the end
pick some engines first, say you like toyota and nissan for example.......do some research on the engines you like, power, torque, weight, size that is the main things, ok then you got it narrowed down a bit, so you start thinking of things like exhaust location, if its on the opposite side then you are going to need a whole new exhaust made up, which might not be a drama depending on your budget...
and then when you have it narrowed down, then ask questions, 22re in a ae86 is pretty silly mate you would of known that if you had done any research at all, dont expect to rely on opinions of other people to do all your work, if your gonna do that... just stick a 4agze and do what everyone else is doing, or do the bookwork and be respected!....enough said
