There are some really cool ones around now that can be fitted in under 2mins. Also good cos you wont have to bother cleaning all the mud and crap off the bike before you put it in the car. I bought an AE82 mainly coz i wanted something cheap to chuck my mountain bike in and I wanted a small car with more poke than a normal hatch (hence getting the Twin Cam). If you have a good mtb I would not be keen on putting it on a bike rack (much more easily stolen if you need to leave the car alone). Also you have the hassle of putting the bike rack on and off and if you live in a shoebox like mine there's nowhere to store the bike rack when you're not using it.
