I am definetly no expert on these cars - hell it is hard to find anything on them in English in print or on the web (but I am luckly enough to have a copy of the Modern Motor with this article), but I imagine they would have sold in some volume in Japan, along with the 2 door hardtop version.

Maybe with the Japanese policy of scapping cars before their time, the Corona GT's were not seen as desirable as say the Celica GT and Levins etc?

It is possible that another sedan or hardtop GT has sneaked in to the country over the years that few people know about....
