Thu, 30 September 2004 23:44 Higher air intake temps = less power (most significant and noticeable in forced induction vehicles). Do a search and you will find some generic estimates of roughly how much power decreases as temperature increases. Higher ambient temps and road surface temps = more traction (makes it harder to spin the wheels). That's why the burnout before running a 1/4 can be helpful for traction, as most decent tyres will work better with some heat put into them (especially race compounds) Higher air temps = slight decrease in boost levels, hotter air is less dense (most noticeable when running higher boost levels > 15 psi) So in conclusion, it's normal for your car to feel a little slower on a hot day, and it's normal to not break traction as easily too. Just make sure there are no other probs adding to this. [Report message to a moderator]
