I've found EBC Greenstuff to be pretty good for general street use, and they still seem to do a job after the disc is glowing red. Bendix standard are almost an absolute bloody hazard (tried them on a few different cars of peoples), generally one moderate stop from 120-130 km/h and by the time you get to 60 they're gone. The better Bendix pads (metal and ultimate) aren't so bad though, and a lot cheaper than the greenstuff. Then again, the greenstuff still work noticably better than anything Bendix make - so get the best you can afford without resorting to selling kidneys/lungs/other bodily parts you may be able to live without. Oh yeah, and braking is one thing that its a lot harder to get booked for going hard at, unlike accelerating... And can be fun too!
