Not the height so much as that controls the lift.
Duration is where the shape of the cam stops continuing in a circle around the shaft and starts to form the sides of the lobe. 8 degrees isn't a lot of difference so you'll need a keen eye.
I don't know if the lift is higher on one compared to the other though - someone may be able to help here but again I suspect you'd be only talking around 0.5-1.0 mm.
If you can pick which one has the wider base on the lobe that'll be the big port one.
If you can mount he cams in a head with valves you could draw a degree wheel and stick it on the cam wheels or just put a mark on the cam wheel. The turn the camshaft back and forth and see which one turns the least before it hits against the valve - giving a wider cam lobe - bigport.
