Tue, 05 October 2004 05:42 The import cars you see for race/rally use only are because they haven't had the work done on them under the grey import rules. This is mainly because they aren't eligible for importing that way. These cars cannot be registered except for rally use, as ae86trueno said. A lot of the states now have a different plate (Conditional use only) for the first time these cars are now registered so they stand out when a cop goes to check them. There was also a big crack down on this in Vic a couple of years ago because some people without CAMS licences were using rally registered cars as daily transport. The transport authorities allow rally cars to be registered despite that they contravene a lot of ADR's & turn a bit of a blind eye to this. So don't bend the rules, or us rally freaks will hunt you down & force you to go rally driving [Report message to a moderator]
