the motors don't burn the valves - it's something to do with the car repayments that cause the cars to catch on fire (if you get my drift)
ask the gtp boys about the exhaust valves. they are 5.5mm diameter, and after about 5hours of sustained race driving, they break off at the head. even some road cars have experienced this problem.
