i'm not a huge fan of the turbo clock on the GT4. The main reason people want to do it is to eliminate the 180 degree bend off the turbo down to the battery area. Fair enough. Problem is that when you clock the turbo, you still have to do a tight 90 degree turn towards the driver's side to avoid hitting the front engine mount.

Now the pipe is travelling towards the drivers side, and now you have to do a 180 degree turn to get it attached onto the intercooler inlet. Which is precisely what you were trying to avoid in the first place.

And unless your I/C has inlets on the same side, your throttle body to intercooler pipe now has to cross over the cam cover, over the air intake and then down near the battery.... combine this with the pipework on the hot side, and you've got a system with actually more pipelength and just as tight bends.

I'd say do the 180 degree bend straight off the turbo, down past the battery and onto the I/C pipe. On the cold side, go from the throttle body, over the front of the cam cover, then down to the aircon pump area, and onto the cooler.

To me its actually the cleaner route.

The only real reasons I can fathom for the clocking is to hide some of the intercooler piping and reduce the need to muck around near the aircon and water inlets.

when I clocked my turbo I ran my pipe off the turbo to the passenger side ( slim line thermo meant bend was
not as harsh)
and from throttle body down past AC as you said
Yes this way worked better as pipework was kept to a minimum
difference was noticed straight away as interwarmer was gone
and I didn't have the ugly horseshoe bend coming off the turbo
Stu has some pictures for reference Smile
everyone seems to do it diferently Rolling Eyes
each to their own Razz
