Paul,
Having looked at the problem closely, this is what I see...
Take a look at the the wire out of pin 11 in your cruise control loom connector.
This wire eventually connects to the positive supply rail through the 15A ECU fuse (and on m/t systems, through the clutch switch, which disengages the cruise control when the clutch pedal is pressed) and connection is spliced from this wire which goes straight to pin 3 of your a/t neutral start switch. The reason why this is connected to the neutral start switch is to cancel the speed setting (and disengage cruise control) when switched to "N"uetral in you a/t. This is probably the problem you are experiencing. If i remember correctly, pin 2 of your neutral start switch connector goes to the starter motor. What did you do with pin 3 of the connector? if the pin 2 - 3 connection is already closed try openning it and see if the cruise control would work or vice versa. Hopefully this should solve your problem.
If you want to, you could connect a clutch switch to the wire 11 out of the cruise control loom connector for the clutch sensing.

Oh yeah, and check the overdrive relay connection off the cruise control loom (5) to make sure everything is okay there too.
