if im correct in my way of thinking i THINK there may be a lot of mis-information floating around here.
from my understanding the valve that controls oil to the cooler is NOT a pressure relief valve, rather a THERMOSTAT which is activated when the temperature of the oil returning to the sump is at a certain temperature, so as not to constantly be cooling oil as you want it at a certain operating temp not always cold.
i could be wrong but this is my belief.
