the number of grades is because of the number of different types of vehicles they have, and because typically americans are anal.
eg - jap cars take 91 and high-po jap imports take 93.. but local trucks etc take 87-89.
I also compared their prices to ours when in colorado. It worked out about 10c per litre less, and that was with a 70-75c exchange rate. dont be fooled so easily
