It'd be a lot of work, but the 16v engine will make more power at the end of the day. By a lot of work, I mean altering the inlet ports so they'd angle into the head like the 20v's do. You'd also need bigger valves all round, etc, but given time teh 16v would be very good indeed.
(There's an easier way to make a head like that, but I'm keeping it secret!)
