well taking the speaker out of the box is a good start... To check the speaker, just gently push/pull the cone in thru its normal amount of travel, if you feel/hear any scratchyness, ur up for a new speaker. Next time, either ditch the sub, or tie the bastard down. Cheers. [Report message to a moderator]
