Well, after dropping it off tuesday last week, I finally got the Rolla back tonight!! Turns out the original igniter had died (I drove it there however?) and the igniter plug itself was faulty in that if it was just plugged in as normal the car wouldn't start, if you applied pressure to the plug and REALLY pusshed and held it on the car would start and run, let go and it stops. Once that was fixed everything was fine, boy were they happy to see me go!!
Top marks to the guys at Brisbane Auto Electrics though, they were very good about it all, and the charge was very reasonable considering all of the time and effort they spent on it. Everything has been triple checked on the car now so I guess I don't have to worry about anything electrical being on the way out 
Just happy to have it back now.
