a turbo is a turbo.
with that said,
each turbo is different due to the size of the turbine and compressor impellers.
each turbo is different because of the size of the exhaust and intake housings.
the right turbo for you depends on your motor, your intended application and your airflow goals.
a turbo designed to work in a pair is the same as a turbo designed to work by itself IF ALL THE TURBO'S PARAMETERS ARE THE SAME.
some motors have turbos that spin opposite ways perhaps (isn't the VG30 like this?)
work out which turbo you want, then if they come in a pair, get them...
if they are designed for a 1500hp RB28, and you want a 200hp 4AG, of course they are not suitable..
if they are designed for a 460hp RB28, and you want a 200hp 4AG, then they are probably close...
wtf do you come in asking if splitting up some unknown turbo combination will be suitable for some unknown engine combination..
oh wait.. it's coming to me..... YES it will be fine
since you are looking at bling bullshit turbos, why not just go to Garrett, lay 2K on the table and buy a brand new GT series turbo that has exactly the specs you want?? no point fucking around and buying a turbo that is not suited just because it comes in a pair..
and you wonder why no-one replied to your message? (and wtf is bumping 29 mins after the first post?? seriously....  )
go and talk to Garrett.
