ke382TG Forums Junkie Registered: May 2002	Re: loss of boost after installation of intercooler Wed, 13 October 2004 06:15 I have run the wastegate actuator line from the inlet side of the intercooler and it resulted in unstable boost control and massive boost spikes (spiking of up to 7 psi over the preset level of 18psi). Different results may be found on another car though so no harm in giving it a try..... Note: my turbo builds boost very rapidly and the slight delay that the above setup caused made for some big boost spikes, which was great if you just wanted to break traction and wheelspin everywhere, but was not great for trying to drive quick. My current setup runs the wastegate actuator line from the first section of pipe after the turbo compressor housing (50mm post compressor housing) it is a super short line and it holds perfectly stable boost levels (on my high and low settings) and at 20 psi will only spike 1.5 psi (I can setup for no spike at all but for nice rapid boost response on my high boost setting I have it setup for a slight spike ). I like 20psi at under 3000rpm for some quick acceleration Experiment with your setup to get the performance and characteristics that YOU are happy with. But be careful, don't blow up your engine!
