As much as I soooo wouldn't bother with an st162, if I were enthusiastic about one, I would do the following:
Engine:
4 into 1 extractors, 1.75" primaries into 2.5" collector
2.5" 'cat-back' exhaust system (with free flowing cat)
piss off the AFM and install Megasquirt...
288deg camshafts
clean up castings in the head and port match.
blah blah airfillet o fish and some cold air on the side.
Suspension/Drivetrain/Etc:
TruTrac LSD
Coilovers
4 spot calipers w/vented discs on front
2 spot calipers w/whatever discs on rear
Tune the car to run about 12.5:1 AFR under WOT and heavy load, run about 13~14:1 for lighter loads, and obviously closed loop for crusin 
Then for more fun, try and make the bastard lighter.
But then, why would I bother with a fwd car....
