Have you changed tie rods on anything else before? the sprinter is no different than any other car really.
you might want to get someone to show you how if you haven't done it before. it's not difficult,just so you don't make a mess of it. popping the tapered end of the rod out of the steering knuckle is the trick- remove the split pin,back off the castlated nut,then hit the side of the knuckle with a decent hammer. the taper should pop out slightly,and you'll be able to remove the balljoint end from the knuckle.
the rest of the rod is simple,just measure the length of the thread that is exposed,and then spin off the rod. spin the new unit on to the same point,bolt it all back together (use a new split pin!),and double check your toe settings.
not hard to do...
