ta22 dash lights... Mon, 18 October 2004 07:13 Go to previous message
hey all.
the other week i noticed that the lights on my oil/battery guage were not working. because i have only had the ta22 for a month and it is my first car i somehow convinced myself that they never were lights there anyway and did not think much more about it
then...last night none of the dash lights worked which is a bit of a worry when you are driving at night.

now i have used the search function and discovered that apparantely this is quite a common problem in the old school celicas. there could be two possible problems. corrosion of the wires or a bad earthing (does this just mean that the wires have disconnected)
i have just had a look at the wires at the dash this arvo but to no avail, as i do not really know which wires i should be looking at exactely (this situation is not really helped by not knowing much about cars as well, but need, and want to learn.)

so could somebody please offer me some advice where and what exactely i should be looking for (i havent bought a heynes guide for the celica yet so i do not have any wiring diagrams which i assume i need.)

or should i just stuff it and get an auto electrician to do it...which i do not really want to.
i MUST learn the way of old school celicas...
thanks for any help you can give me.
cheers.
hugh.
