i looked at doin the conversion to a efi fuel tank and internal pump on my 4ac just to save me doing it later when i install the 20v, but i decided against it as the fuel pump puts outabout 40 or 50 psi pressure and the carby is designed for like 6 or 7 psi so i would have to install a fuel pressure regulator to keep it all working...was a waste of time and money to do it so if someone has done it i don't know why they would... no real gains to be had. i'd say check the fuel line from the carby and see if it goes into a round thing with tow other hoses coming off it. that should be the mechanical fuel pump. and yeh the fuel pumps i've heard make a humming or buzzing sound
